My IT journey

I started a professional IT career in August 2021 - my previous experience stemming from gaming, family troubleshooting, and building my personal PC. I started on the help desk at New Look, and was mainly responsible for tablet devices across the store estate. This role then evolved into a more traditional help desk role, including ticket resolution, answering high priority calls, and supporting the role out of new equipment while maintaining my original focus on devices.

I was then promoted through to the End User Computing team, where I was able to work closer with users and devices to troubleshoot issues and see them through to resolution. While on the EUC team, I started my Microsoft Certification journey earning the AZ-900, MS-900, SC-900, and MS-500 certifications.

In July 2023, I then joined the Infrastructure team on a secondment, with the intention of improving the security of our infrastructure by investigating server patching schedules and requirements, onboarding into Defender for Endpoint and Azure Arc, and researching the uses of Azure Update Manager.

December marked my 3rd line position being offered on a permanent basis as I was invited to join the team as a Technical Services Analyst, where I have been supporting the business with my knowledge and understanding of PowerShell, Microsoft Teams, and cybersecurity. Since joining the team, I have earned my AZ-104 and ITILv4 Foundation certifications.

I have also become a member with the Institute of Leadership and the British Computer Society.
